ST Math+Music™ combines the research-based music curriculum to the ST Math: K-5 courseware. MIND’s original research showed that music training improved spatial temporal reasoning, the cognitive skill used by the courseware to teach and illustrate math principles. In combination, the music training and the courseware have achieved dramatic gains in test scores. Music has a mathematical architecture, and as young students learn music they are also learning to recognize patterns and symmetries, and experiencing and hearing the concepts of counting and fractions. There are 4 levels of instruction in reading sheet music and playing piano, from K/1 through 4th grade.
